Open source

The core is planned under the Apache-2.0 license: use it, change it, run it in a company, at no cost. The planned copyright notice reads "Copyright Haldara LLC".

Contributors would certify their work with a Developer Certificate of Origin sign-off on each commit (Signed-off-by). There would be no Contributor License Agreement, so contributors keep their own copyright. Haldara LLC holds the qlane name.

The open-source package would send nothing anywhere. No usage pings, no crash reports, no phone-home. The author would learn about adoption from public signals such as package downloads and issues.

• Free and open source: embedded and server mode, all the modules on the features page, run on your own machines.
• Paid hosting, later: a hosted version may come after the first open-source release, once people are using it. There is nothing to buy today and no prices are set.

Nothing leaves your machine unless you choose to use a hosted service and mark specific work as allowed to go there.

This site is set in Geist and Geist Mono, by the Geist Project Authors, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The font files are served from this site, not from a font service. The license texts are in LICENSES.txt.
